Help and Support
with Behaviour-Change

Ahimsa is a Plymouth-based charity delivering specialist behaviour change programmes for people who cause harm in their relationships. Founded in 1990, Ahimsa is Respect-accredited and has been working to end domestic abuse in Plymouth for over 35 years.

Within the Integrated Domestic Abuse Service Plymouth (IDASP), Ahimsa provides intensive, one-to-one behaviour change work with people posing a high risk and high frequency of harm. Ahimsa's Behaviour Change workers work closely with Independent Domestic Violence Advisers (IDVAs) in the partnership to assess and manage risk and increase safety for those affected by the abuse.

Other Ahimsa services

Ahimsa also delivers behaviour change programmes for adults, and the Ahimsa Youth Service works with young people aged 16-25 displaying harmful behaviour in relationships – supporting them early, with a focus on building healthy relationships before patterns become entrenched. Across all programmes, Ahimsa works in an integrated way, providing specialist support to affected others alongside the behaviour change/healthy relationships work.
